Annual Parent Survey

The Annual Parent Survey was sent out this week.  Here is the link.  While you are thinking about your conference and the experience your child is having this year, please give input on the Schmitz Park program, the upcoming move to the Genesee-Hill campus and changes to our start/end times next year. Please provide input by Friday, December 4.

Building Transition Committee

Our PTA Board and Schmitz Park staff-parent Building Leadership Team have started the process of convening a Building Transition Committee and laying out a work plan for making sure that we have everything in place to hit the ground running at the Genesee Hill building in September. The committee will be co-chaired by our assistant principal, Ms. Dunn, and our PTA Vice President, Kelley O’Connor, and we are now looking for several staff members and
A community group of parents and educators has organized attendance at the next SPS Board Meeting scheduled for November 18, 4:15 p.m. @ the Stanford Center  (2445 3rd Ave S.) to keep the pressure on regarding cuts and class sizes – accountability – and keeping kids/schools as top priority (rather than central office raises, etc.) There are two sign ups at the link below: 1. one to get 29 kids to the school board meeting
Are you interested in working with the Schmitz Park Community? This unique opportunity is open to an individual who can commit to flexible hours working from home to coordinate classes and register students and also occasionally at school helping students get settled and working with program providers.  Applicants would enjoy developing enrichment opportunities for students, interacting with instructors, parents, and staff, and would be organized and reliable.  Long term training and support will be available.

Congratulations to Casie LaBella for winning the Volunteer of the Month for October 2015.  Casie is mom to Jesse in 3rd grade and Lucy in 1st grade.  She volunteered 38.9 hours in October. She works in the classroom, as a room parent, and with the passport program.  She enjoys golf and reading.
