Guidelines:

The GHE PTA offers grants of up to $1,000 through the Opportunity Fund to parents, guardians, or teachers to use for one-time student-centered projects, purchases, or events at Genesee Hill Elementary. Students may also submit applications with an adult sponsor. Examples of grant ideas include a gardening project, community art project, new club, or unique educational experience. Be creative!

The grant idea shouldn’t fit elsewhere in the budget, such as under classroom supplies or an event the PTA already sponsors.  You are welcome to bring those ideas to the board, though, and there may be money in the budget for them.

The PTA board will accept grant applications on a rolling basis, which means people can apply at any time during the school year as long as there is money remaining in the fund. A board member will review the application for completeness and will edit with the applicant if needed before submitting to the principal for review. The application will be reviewed by the entire board at the next monthly board meeting after the application is submitted. The board will follow up with the applicant after the meeting.
